Bread Communion has been a tradition at Emerson UU Chapel since our beginning. We approach the time of the year of harvest, and gratitude for the bounty of our harvest, we bring a loaf of bread from our own individual (or family's) tradition to share. Because our church-family has grown, we have modified the service to accommodate our numbers, but the gratitude and sharing remain. We ask that those who wish to share, bring a loaf (or other "bread", which could be bagels, etc.) to share during coffee/social time. When you bring your offering for that time, you may leave it in the Hearth Room; if you are visiting us for the first time, please be our guest and share our bounties. During service, the Worship Committee will provide the loaves we share (including a gluten free option). We share in gratitude for the abundance of our own lives, the shared harvest, the hard work of those who make it possible, and our community that gathers to worship together.
